Inclusive social security: an entry point for gender equality in the MENA region

Gender equality in the MENA region is limited.  But attempts to improve it could yield substantial benefits for everyone as well as for the economy.  A way in which this outcome can be achieved is through inclusive social security.

Our infographic below gives an overview of the various positive impacts inclusive, lifecycle social security would have on gender equality in the MENA region, as well as facts and figures on the current situation. It demonstrates how social security for all can act as an entry point for gender equality across the Middle East and North Africa.

The visual is based on a range of sources which are included at the bottom of the graphic, including the paper "Social security for inclusive growth globally and in the MENA region" by the ISSPF.
